Ravit is a mobile app for iOS and Android that makes Ravelry fast and friendly on your phone or tablet. Developed by a husband-and-wife team, it is designed to let you browse patterns, manage your projects, and check your stash without squinting at the full website.

Download Ravit from the App Store or Google Play. Open the app and sign in with your Ravelry account. Ravit connects directly to your existing Ravelry data, including projects, stash, queue, favorites, and forum activity.

Ravit has a free tier with limited features. A premium subscription unlocks unlimited pattern viewing, project editing, advanced search, and photo editing tools.

Ravit makes pattern discovery mobile-friendly. The pattern browser lets you:

  • Search by keyword
  • Filter by craft, availability, category, attributes, yarn weight, and more
  • Combine multiple filter options with AND, NOT, or OR logic
  • Browse pattern photos, details, and project examples
  • View a designer’s other patterns

When you find a pattern you like, favorite it, view it in your queue, or purchase and download the PDF directly in the app.

Ravit syncs with your Ravelry projects. You can:

  • View your existing projects and their details
  • Create new projects from patterns or from scratch
  • Add notes, hook size, gauge, and yarn used
  • Snap photos, edit them with built-in filters, and upload directly

The photo editing tools let you crop, adjust color balance, sharpen, and remove blemishes before uploading.

Your Ravelry stash is available in Ravit, including offline access. Check what you already own without a cell signal, which is useful at a yarn store. Ravit caches your stash data so you can search, sort, and view it offline.

Look up a project to see which yarns and yardage you need, then check your stash to see if you have something suitable.

Download and view pattern PDFs directly in the app. Your purchased and favorited patterns are accessible from your library.

Browse, read, and post to Ravelry forums from within the app. View topics, reply to threads, and start new discussions.

Ravelry’s website is feature-rich but not optimized for mobile. Ravit provides a clean, touch-friendly interface with readable text and tappable buttons. It uses less data than loading the full website and works well even on older devices.

  • Your stash is cached offline. Use it at yarn stores without cell service.
  • Use the photo editing tools. Built-in filters improve your project photos before uploading.
  • Consider premium for advanced search. The filter options are a strong reason to upgrade.
  • Active development. The developers respond to feedback through the Ravit group on Ravelry.
